the claims for 24 schoolwide approaches to reform. Twenty-four programs
were identified, then the American Institutes for Research rated their
effectiveness in raising student achievement. Due to the nature of the
review, quantitative achievement measures are highlighted.

of information about standards, instruction and assessment. Check out the
Early Literacy Advisor and research reports on instruction.

Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory works to improve schools in
the
northwest part of the United States. Many of their programs have
relevance to other geographic areas. Assessment and school improvement
are two areas of interest.
