Purpose of Degree Programs

The B.A. degree emphasizes the liberal arts with specialization in chemistry and
offers the opportunity to develop a broad background for students preparing for a
variety of careers or planning to enter professional school in medicine, dentistry,
veterinary science, law, or business.

The B.S. degree in chemistry offers a greater concentration in chemistry and is
recommended for students planning careers in engineering and the chemical industry,
or for those who plan to pursue graduate study.

The department also offers courses in support of the M.Ed. Degree. This degree is
designed for persons preparing for professional employment in positions in education.
