- All About Birds
(http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds). The Cornell Lab of Ornithology runs
this site that features information about many aspects of bird watching, feeding, and
study. The Bird Guide gives the alternate names, geography, physical characteristics,
sound, and conservation status of hundreds of birds.
- Ornithology (http://www.ornithology.com/).
This index to ornithology provides directories of related links, browsable by subjects
such as banding, birdwatching, careers in ornithology, and geography.
- Cooper Ornithological Society
(http://www.cooper.org). With over 3000 professional and amateur member, this
Society site promotes the study and conservation of birds. Included on site is a
fulltext archive of the Society's journal The Condor from 1899 to the
present.
- Searchable Ornithological
Research Archive (SORA) (http://elibrary.unm.edu/sora/). This site,
maintained by the University of New Mexico, contains fully searchable,
full text backfiles of several of the leading ornithological journals.
Available journals and their coverage include: The Auk (1884-1999),
The Condor (1899-2000), The Wilson Bulletin (1889-1999),
The Pacific Coast Avifauna (1900-1974), and Studies in Avian
Biology (1978-1999).
- EPA and Bird Conservation
(http://www.epa.gov/owow/birds/). This EPA site serves as a good starting
point for issues in bird conservation and includes links to a number of
EPA project sites.
