Purpose of Degree Programs
-
The Biology Department offers a BA. degree that is specifically designed for
pre-professional students, including pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-veterinary,
and pre-physical therapy students. The B.A. degree is tailored to prepare
students for rigorous testing for professional schools and for the course
demands once a student is admitted. The B.A. degree with a biology education
emphasis is also offered in conjunction with the College of Education.
-
The B. S. degree in Biology is currently the only undergraduate biology degree
program in Georgia that requires an independent research experience for the
awarding of the degree.
-
The M.S. degree in Biology has both a thesis and non-thesis track. Biology is
also an appropriate subject matter field for the M.Ed. in Secondary Education.
