by the United States Government. Users can browse distribution maps, images, and other
related information on many insect species.
- Entomology Index of
Internet Resources (http://www.ent.iastate.edu/List/). From the Iowa
State University Department of Entomology, this site serves as a directory
to a great number of entomology related websites.
- NMNH Entomology Database
Library (http://entomology.si.edu/). From the Smithsonian
National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), the NMNH Entomology Web site is
a work in progress containing a wealth of information on curated
specimens, staff, history, organization, and literature in searchable
categories, through a database library of curated species and
bibliographies. It provides digitized access to NMNH entomology work,
products, and personnel.

This is a database is a working bibliography of the literature on extant
and fossil Neuroptera, Megaloptera, and Raphidioptera (Insecta:

This Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center site provides a
searchable database of the moths and butterflies in the U.S. and Northern Mexico.
It features distribution maps, numerous photos of the adult
and caterpillar, species accounts, and species checklists by location or taxonomy.

(http://www.cyberbee.net/). This Michigan State University site provides
links to daily news stories, the home pages of dozens of research groups,
resources for beekeepers, scientific meetings and other bee websites.
- Antbase

From the Entomology Department of the American Museum of Natural History,
this database covers the biogeography, systematics, and biodiversity of
over 12,000 species of ants.
- Termites of
the World (http://www.utoronto.ca/forest/termite/dist%5Fspc.htm).
This University of Toronto site offers photos of many termite genera for
identification purposes.
