graphics gallery, though created for high school science teachers, has
many useful graphics related to biological structures and
processes. It is sponsored by Genentech, a biotechnology company.
- PHIL:Public Health
Image Library (http://phil.cdc.gov/Phil/default.asp). PHIL is an
extensive collection of still images, image sets, and multimedia files
related to public health. It is provided by the Centers for Disease
Control in Atlanta.
- BIODIDAC (http://biodidac.bio.uottawa.ca/).
Funded by the University of Ottowa and the Government of Quebec, this site was designed for
teachers and features over 6,000 images and diagrams.
- Academic Info Biology Images
(http://www.academicinfo.net/bioimage.html).
This directory lists many biology image databases featuring specialized topics like
viruses, flowers, or fish.
