Ingram Library is a depository for Federal government documents. Government documents (or government publications as they are sometimes called) are materials published by or for a government agency. These materials are available in a variety of formats including print, CD-Rom, microfiche and on the Web. Print government documents are located on the Main Floor of the Library and are shelved by publishing agency, using the Superintendent of Documents classification system. These documents may be checked out for 28 days and are subject to the same checkout policies as other library materials.

Government publications cover a wide variety of subjects, such as:

  • Current Affairs
  • Legal Issues
  • Foreign Countries

Most of the government documents can be located by using the Ingram Library Catalog (GIL). If you need help locating government documents on a specific topic or finding a document on the shelf, please consult a reference librarian for assistance.

For more information, visit the Government Documents home page.
