DISSERTATIONS -

Dissertation Abstracts International is available in the Galileo databases, and paper copies through 1993 are shelved in the periodical area.

MISCELLANEOUS TIPS FOR FINDING MUSIC MATERIALS AT INGRAM LIBRARY

General biography - use the following subject searches: composers and biography; musicians and biography; pianists and biography; singers and biography; etc.

Music education and pedagogy - use the subject searches: school music

instruction and study; instrumental music instruction and study.

Music scores - type the composer's name in author field and a title word in the title field e.g. Bach and suite

Reprints - search the online catalog in the word/phrase field: da capo and music; reprint and music

Government documents - at the search screen, tab until the term "qualify" is highlighted. Press Enter; then tab until you are in the "location" field. Type doc and press Enter. Then type music or your specific topic in the word/phrase field. [Many government documents have a ZD1 prefix in their call numbers. The items are shelved by the call number, not the ZD1 and are all located on the main floor.]

English translation - search the word/phrase field using: English translation and your topic.
