Emergency ClosingShould the library need to close early, Public Safety must be contacted to lock the exterior doors. Susan Smith, Chris Carroll, and Julie Dobbs are on the official list of those who can request alterations to the established schedule for the automatic locking of doors. On evenings or weekends, Public Safety dispatch 96000 should be contacted by the faculty member or staff member on duty (not by a student or grad assistant) via a campus phone line if severe weather or an event such as a power outage makes it necessary to close the library. The individual who phones will be asked to give his/her name and UWG ID number. Public Safety has indicated that they may dispatch an officer to confirm the situation before remotely locking the doors.Per Lorene Flanders, 1/20/2009 |
